St. Lucia is a wonderful destination whether you’re looking for a romantic, rejuvenating, or adventurous vacation. We visited three resorts while on the island: Jade Mountain, Capella, and Cap Maison.
Our first stop was at the iconic Jade Mountain situated above the 600 acre beach front resort of their sister hotel, Anse Chastanet. Owner and architect, Nick Troubetzkoy designed this incredible resort featuring rooms with only 2 and 3 walls.
The bridges throughout the resort, allow you to get from sanctuary to sanctuary, as well as to the restaurant located on the top of the resort that features breathtaking views of the Pitons.

Above is the entrance to the Jade Club that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features live music on selected evenings. Above the Jade Club, there is a rooftop terrace that can be reserved for weddings or other events.
For waterfront dining, Anse Chastanet features the Trou Au Diable – Beach Grille that serves lunch daily and dinner every day except Tuesdays in a casual setting.
All guests have access to two premier beaches of St. Lucia. The Anse Chastanet beach and the Anse Mamin, both about a 1/4 mile long, are conveniently located and separated by a costal walkway. All non-motorized sports are complimentary for guests staying at either Jade Mountain or Anse Chastanet.
Next, we headed to the 18 month old, completely renovated, Capella resort. Above is the iconic view from the marina.
While the resort does not have direct beach access, it does feature two beautiful pools including the one pictured above. Below this pool, there is another smaller, but equally tranquil one. A nearby beach is accessible by a short boat ride, and is a great way to have a tour of the Marigot Bay area.
Pool cabanas are first come first serve.
Freshly picked coconuts are a refreshing poolside amenity, perfect for cooling you down from the hot St. Lucia sun.
The resort features many sitting areas, perfect for sipping on a Spiced Iced Tea and enjoying the view of the beautiful yachts that frequent this marina.
The beautiful one bedroom suite features a kitchen, sitting area, laundry room, bathroom, and bedroom with it’s own sitting area. The fridge is replenished daily with complimentary water, soft drinks, and Piton beer. It’s also possible to have a private chef prepare a meal in your room, or have the fridge stocked with ingredients to cook a meal for yourself!
Accommodations have been designed to immerse you in the tranquility of St. Lucia.
Capella’s restaurant, the Rum Cave, offers tapas style plates. We also enjoyed a rum tasting from Andre, the bar’s head bartender, who had extensive knowledge about all the rums we tried.
Next, it was to Cap Maison, and elegant luxury boutique hotel located in the northern part of the island. This hotel feels more like a private residence that happens to feature hotel amenities.
The hotel has two pools and beach access. One of the pools is located within the courtyard for a more tranquil setting, while the other is overlooking the ocean.
We enjoyed dinner at the Cliff at Cap which features unobstructed views of Martinique to the North, and Pigeon Island to the West. The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar & Grill, located on Smugglers Cove beach, offers a relaxing dining experience.
The incredible Oceanview Villa Suite with Pool comes with a separate living/dining area surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The villa’s pool is easily accessed by the master bedroom or the large private veranda.
The master bedroom and bath are air conditioned, while the main living spaces are cooled with fans.
Four lounge chairs and an outdoor dining table complete this villa’s veranda. This resort also has some of the most breathtaking views of the sunset.
