This week you are off to one of the most romantic cities in the world, Paris! From amazing sightseeing, to the small, tucked away cafés, and incredible shopping, Paris really has it all. A short three night trip is the perfect weekend getaway!
Upon arrival, you are greeted by your driver at Charles De Gaulle International Airport. It’s a 40 minute drive through Paris to your hotel, Esprit Saint Germain. The Ladurée macaroons that you bought at the airport are the perfect pick me up after your journey.
The city is so enticing that you decide to drop your luggage in your room and head out to explore the city. Your comfortable outfit for the plane is easily transferable to work as a casual but chic attire for sightseeing. The Louvre, Notre Dame, and some shopping down the Champs-Élysées is the perfect start to your quick trip.
After a long first day of traveling and exploring, dinner at Boucherie Roulière came highly recommended. Jean-Luc Roulière, a fifth-generation butcher opened this long, narrow bistro near St.-Sulpice church that offers enticing truffle-scented ravioli or a rich marrow bone to enjoy before indulging in a generous slab of Limousine or Salers beef. An early night to bed is much needed to rejuvenate for the rest of your trip!
The next morning, you have arranged to take a bike tour of Versailles. It’s the perfect way to discover the grandeur of this 2,000 acre Royal Domain. You’ll start your day by exploring the local market and browse through the brimming food stalls as you choose the best things for your picnic lunch along the lake. Then spend the day discovering the unique gardens, the inside of Marie Antoinette’s private domain, Grand and Petit Trainons. This all occurs while learning about the life, legends, and scandals of the Sun King, Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution. It’s from 9:00am – 5:00pm so a light outfit paired with trendy sneakers and a backpack to match, is the perfect combination of function and flair.
Upon returning from Versailles, a shower and wardrobe change is needed before you head out to dinner at Ralph’s. Ralph’s is the all-American restaurant opened three years ago by Ralph Lauren, inside his elaborately appointed new store on the Boulevard St.-Germain. After dinner, you venture over to the Eiffel Tower to see its sparkling lights in the glowing moonlight.
Your final day in Paris includes a Shopping Tour of the Les Marais District. Les Marais has everything: discreet and majestic monuments, trendsetting shops, easy-going cafés, quiet gardens and a multicultural and cosmopolitan vibe. You will follow your guide to secret places that were once aristocratic and are now open to all who know which door to push. Former mansions and workshops, and old fountains and wells, and even an Art Nouveau synagogue in the ancient Jewish neighborhood. This private walking tour of Marais will include such sites as Church St. Paul, Place des Vosges, Hotel de Sully, Hotel Salé, and much more.
After resting from a long day of exploring, L’Ardoise is a great choice for a wonderful meal and a perfect ending to your getaway. L’Ardoise is a model of the kind of contemporary bistros making waves in Paris. Chef Pierre Jay’s first-rate three-course dinner menu, tempts with such original dishes as mushroom and foie gras ravioli with smoked duck; farmer’s pork with porcini mushrooms; and red mullet with creole sauce.
Unfortunately your time in Paris has come to an end. So it’s back to Charles De Gaulle airport and time to head back to reality, but first a stop at Gerard Mulot, a Boulanger Patissier for one last pain au chocolate.
